Speaker 1:

Stop telling yourself you're trying, because you're trying is where you are now. That's what got you in the position you are now And you've said to yourself you want more and better. So trying has to look different. It has to look different, like you have to change. Trying has to look different so that you can step into the new you and become something more impactful. I know you feel the excitement. I know you feel the excitement. It's 99% excitement, 1% nervousness, but all that matters is that I'm right at you. Welcome, welcome, welcome to the inaugural episode of DES Daily execution succeeds, hosted by me.

Speaker 1:

Des AKA DES Daniels, aka Coach Daniels. Aka Mr Rose pedals, aka Business Engineer Right And so that's just a little bit about me. I want to tell you a little bit about this channel, so let's go ahead and get started. Let's tap in. Daily execution succeeds, DES. Daily execution succeeds. That's why we're here today. We're here today to talk about your ability to execute on a daily basis. Right, like I know, you execute sometimes, maybe on Monday, maybe on Tuesday, maybe every other day, but do you execute daily? That's why we're here. That's why we're here. A little bit about me Right, again, it's a long history And a part of your success is going to be you being comfortable telling your story. A big part of your success is going to be you becoming comfortable telling your story, right. So here's just a brief synopsis. Right, i won't go into many detail, but I went to boarding school. From boarding school, i went to Syracuse University, s-u, where I got my engineering degree. I was an engineer for three years for a Fortune 500 company. As a project engineer and a design engineer, gained a lot of valuable skills, a lot of which we're going to talk about. Throughout our journey through executing daily From engineering, i became inspired to do something different. I went into teaching. Yes And boy, i was a teacher For six years. I taught high school mathematics, algebra, calculus, geometry. During that time, i also was the head football coach, and that's why a lot of people within the school and a lot of players still continue to call me Coach Daniels.

Speaker 1:

After teaching, tragedy hit in our family. You'll learn a little bit about that. That inspired our second business, rose Petals Cafe. But we became business owners. We owned Rose Petals for close to a decade, where we owned high six figures in the last two years, and it was an incredible success. And then, after Rose Petals. We took a pivot right during COVID And we jumped into real estate, and that is our third journey, our third large business venture, in which me and my wife have put everything into this basket of entrepreneurship. And let me tell you, real estate and development is where it's at. So we now have a third venture And we're loving it. We're doing well. We're always looking for new business, but that's just a little bit about me And we're not here to only talk about me.

Speaker 1:

That's just a synopsis. But what we're here to do today is to motivate you to execute daily, to execute daily right. One of the things that hinders us the most is this feeling that it's simply about temporary fulfillment. We are in the moment of how do I feel about now? right, but I'm here to tell you this conversation we're about to have today is way bigger than your job, right? This conversation we're about to have today is way bigger than your job, right. It's about you, it's about your future, it's about your dreams, and to get there, you have to execute daily. Daily execution succeeds. That's what you need to do, right. And so, as we look at this, i'm 42. I'm 42. And I'm still experimenting and going through life's journey And I'm loving it.

Speaker 1:

Right, I know some of you at 40 are going through maybe possibly, some sort of midlife crisis right, some of us do. Some of us are always. Some of us are on the journey of finding what's next right, what's next? You graduate at high school And then the question was what's next? Some went to college. Some got careers. For those who went to college, you went to four years of college And then the question after you graduated was what? What next?

Speaker 1:

You go through your 20s right, some of us do some crazy things throughout our 20s right, but you go through your 20s. I was married and had a kid at 25. Some of us in our 20s are still going through something and experimenting in their 20s And they haven't gotten there yet. Right, some of us into our 30s And we're still learning And we're still growing And we haven't gotten to the point of that ultimate growth yet. But you're so close. You're so close, right. What we're sitting in and what we're resting in is comfort. Right, you got to get out of your comfort zone. What some of us are resting on is the simple security of the job that you have now, but you could be providing more security. You could be providing more security for your family, for your friends, for your impact, more security for your impact if you would take a chance on yourself.

Speaker 3:

You have to take chances in life. If you want your life to be something special, you eventually have to take a chance. You can't do normal things and expect extraordinary results. It doesn't work that way. You have to take an exceptional chance one time And it's going to cost you something that you care deeply about. Bishop Jakes told me one time. He said in order to get to the next level in life, you can see where you want to go, but it's a glass ceiling. The reason you can see it is because it's a glass ceiling. In order to break through a glass ceiling, you're going to have to shatter the glass. Anytime you shatter the glass, it's going to be bloodshed, And the blood that you shed is going to be something that you care deeply about. So if you are not willing to shed something you care deeply about, you cannot go to the next level.

Speaker 1:

Like, where are you right now? Are you in a job in your 30s, in a job in your 40s or in your 50s? And it's a job that you don't like right, and you've always wanted to do more right? I see a lot of people. I got a friend I won't name her. She's had a job for 20 years, right, working for the state. It's a good job, right. It's one of those jobs that your parents tell you. You know, get a nice state job, good heart, paying job, with a pension and all of those great things You know, retire at 65, blah, blah, blah, blah blah.

Speaker 1:

And One of the things that keeps her there mostly is the regular check. And what she articulated was the health insurance. I say, how much is that health insurance a month? when you look at your check, how much are they taking a month? She said $700 for her, her husband and two kids. They're taking $700. I said, wow. I mean, while they're grouping that insurance together and in the private market it might cost you $1,000, you and your talent and your skills could be making so much more than $1,000. You could pay for your family's health insurance. If you believed in yourself, you could secure your future and you could secure your kid's future if you were just believing yourself, if you would get up, set a plan, execute daily. You could provide success, whatever that looks like for you and your family, to your kids. Increase the comforts in your life, increase the level of free time. What I said to her was you are talented, you could make that money back. Go get it, believe in yourself. You know what I mean.

Speaker 1:

I don't have a good side to that story, because she's still at that job. She's still at that job. She has a side hustle, but she's still at that job. She's still at the security, the side hustle yet hasn't turned into what she wants, but one day it will. One day it will. She's going to daily, put in some type of effort, execution to end in ultimate success. I would say leave the job and bet on yourself. That's why she's staying.

Speaker 1:

I don't think she trusts herself. Do you trust yourself? If you tried something and it was difficult, do you trust that you can persevere? I think that's why some of you don't start, because you know you're not willing to persevere. You want the thing but you're not willing to fight for it. Who's the person? you've got to fight for Yourself. What you need to do is get up and execute daily. That's what you need to do, but you don't trust your own ability to execute. That's the problem. What are you going to do about that? You don't trust your ability to execute. You could do it, but you don't trust your ability to do it. You stuck at that job.

Speaker 1:

I've always believed in myself. I've had many careers. I retired multiple times. I retired from engineering, then I retired from teaching, then we retired from the home daycare business, then we retired from owning a cafe and restaurant for close to a decade. We just keep moving and transitioning to what's new, the new you.

Speaker 1:

If I'm the same person today as I was yesterday, then I'm not winning. What are you doing If you're the same person today that you was yesterday? because yesterday you reflected and you said this is who I want to be, these are the areas in which I can improve. You said that yesterday. Then today was your opportunity to get up and execute and to do the thing. What I'm believing is that you're better today than you were yesterday. That's what the expectation is. I can't be easy on you. I'm right at you. I can't be easy on you.

Speaker 1:

Success is hard work. Yes, pray about it, but then you got to go out in the streets and do the work You need to put in that time. That's really what it's all about. Now, listen to me, fearing failure is natural. Fearing failure is natural. What's not natural is succumbing to those fears. What is not natural is you giving in to those fears. What is not natural is you being a punk to those fears. That's not natural. And when we look at your makeup, your person, your being, you shouldn't be the type of person that gives up so easy. So, coming to fear Fear of success, fear of failure, but some type of fear, and what you need to do is grow up Like that's what you need to do. You're like, you need to grow up, like, yes, there's an aunt on the floor, but it's not going to kill you. Grow up, right, like, yes, there's a fear, but grow up. So coming to that fear is not natural.

Speaker 1:

The body is naturally defensive against foreign objects. Fear is a foreign object. Get something in your nose. What happens? You start sneezing like crazy. Foreign object Right. You drink water. It goes down the wrong pipe. That's a. That's a foreign object to that, to your windpipe, right. What happened? Natural defense Like your body wants to fight. Like, what are you doing? It's not natural for you to succumb to your fears. That's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm saying to you. It's not natural. So what are you doing And what are you going to do about it? Right, what are you going to do about it? I could say this to you because I have receipts. Receipts As an engineer Yeah, i did my thing, i executed And then I left. When I was a teacher you could ask my colleagues I taught at a high level When we ran our cafe business restaurant for close to a decade.

Speaker 1:

It was run at a high level, right, at a high level. That's what your, that's what the expectation for you, is. So I have receipts. Small home daycare 10 clients, it was successful. Two cafes, one grossing half a million, the other one high six figures, successful. When we walked away from the restaurant and cafe business, we walked away at the top. It was like we were the Barry Sanders of cafe restaurant. They were like you killing it. Why are you walking away? You just ran for 2000 yards, right, why are you walking away from it? I said we're good, we'll talk about that. I said we're good, we're good, we're good, we're going to pivot, we're going to move into something else. We got some new inspiration Again receipts. That's why I can, that's why I'm talking to you like this, because I want you to get on to a level where you execute daily, right.

Speaker 1:

E T says give it 120. Ask my kids how much effort should you give, and they'll tell you how much effort you give. That's what we do. We give it 120. You might fail, you might succeed, right, but for me 120 is important. Why? Because for me, the 100% is for you and the 20% is for somebody else. Right, like you're going to need to give of yourself to someone else. That's the 20%. That's why you need to give 120. 100 for you, 20 for your teammates, 24 your kids, 20 for your wife, 20 for someone else, 20 for the community, 20 for your clients. 100% of that effort is for you. So you're giving 100 plus 20, 120. That's real rap 120. That's what we do. Daily execution succeeds Not only for you but for your family.

Speaker 1:

Succeeds Not Monday, tuesday I'm going to take off Wednesday. Thursday It's Friday, so I'm all Friday. Saturday I might do a little bit on Sunday. No, you can't do that. That's not how success works. Are we saying you can't rest in vacation? No, no, we're not saying that. We're not saying that we rest and we vacation When we want you know, but don't get it twisted.

Speaker 1:

You'll see pictures, right. But when we're trying to grow a business and we're trying to get to a certain level, you need to make sacrifices. When you're trying to grow a business, when you're trying to increase your clients, when you're trying to get to 100K in sales, if you're trying to get your business from 400K to 500K right You're a small restaurant, you're trying to get from 500K to 700K right, which we did right. When you're trying to do that type of thing, when you're trying to grow, when you're in that phase of growth, if you're a coaching, a coach, and you're trying to get more clients and you have metrics, when you you need. What you need to do to get there is execute daily to get to that metric right. Like there's dreams and then there's goals And what I need you to do is set goals and then go out and execute those goals. Set goals, execute them, set goals, crush them, set goals, crush them. And when you create that momentum of crushing goals, you turn around and success is right there in your lap, like that's the life hat, right there, like, if you want to be successful, that's a hat. Kill it every single day, give 120 at whatever you do, i don't work 10, 12 hours a day, but whenever I do work, i give it 120. Some days I work two hours because that's what I committed to that thing, and when I'm doing that thing, i'm giving that thing 120. That's, that's what I'm doing. If I'm coaching, i'm giving 120 to that thing. I'm always going to try to execute at a high level. You can execute at a high level.

Speaker 1:

See, what we do a lot of times is we. Some of us went to college and it was an investment. Some of us have taken courses, right, and if you work in corporate, they send you to trainings, right, because they want you to improve. The idea is you need to invest in yourself. And what does that look like? How are you going to do it? More pushups, more reading, more seminars, more coaching? Like, where are you going to do? Where do you going to do to invest in yourself? Because investments pay off. Like, if you put in $5, your result will be $5, right. Like if you put in $1,000, then your result might be $1,000 or more.

Speaker 1:

But usually, if you don't put in anything, or what you put in is on a budget, then what you get out is not much or something that's on a budget. You wonder why your business not growing? because when you went out and you looked for business coaching, you looked for the cheapest, something that was on a budget. Don't get me wrong budgets are impossible, our excuse me. Budgets are needed, right, but what you can't have is a discounted mindset. You can't be looking for something that's at a discount, right. Yes, we can, we need to budget shop at times, but when you're investing in yourself, what you need is quality. What you need is quality. So seek quality and coaching. That's what you need Life coaching, financial coaching, real estate coaching, whatever it is.

Speaker 1:

My buddy DC is a trainer, right? I've been coaching him on how to grow his training business. You know what I mean, right? So what you need to do is invest in yourself, believe in yourself, right, and that investment will deliver the results equal to the effort and investment. Right, like your results were equal your effort plus your investment. Write that equation down Your success will equal your effort plus your investment.

Speaker 1:

Invest in yourself, learn a new skill, harness a new skill, develop a new skill, do something to become something else, something different. We all live in seasons. You don't have to become or remain the person that you were yesterday, Become something different. I'm always on the path of becoming something different. This podcast is something different. It's becoming. It's me becoming stepping into my new role. My new role is to help you facilitate a better way of investing in the growth of your life satisfaction. Right, like that's what it's all about growing your life satisfaction, right. And so when we look at how do we minimize the waste in your business right, and how do we maximize the things that we do well, we're talking about growing our business, eliminating waste and getting to the next level right, you need to think about getting to the next level and executing daily. That's what you need to do. Like, you know, the videos they get the most clicks and the most views are the ones that say hack this cooking, hack business, hack YouTube, hack, right, everyone's looking for the hack. Everyone's looking for the hack, right. And so if you're trying to grow a business and you put the word hack in it, right, you'll probably get more business because everyone's looking for a hack. Hacks are good tactics.

Speaker 1:

Sometimes, hacks do not grow your business, plain and simple Like there's no other way for me to put it Hacks do not grow your business. What you need to do is write a plan. Have a coach, an accountability coach, a mentor, someone to hold you accountable. Make a plan and then figure out a way to turn that plan into many goals and start crushing them Period. Like that's what you need to do for your success. Like when I point at you, what do they say? Like when you point at people, three fingers are pointing back at yourself, like, stop pointing the finger. You pointing at yourself right. Like when you point the finger at somebody else, like I'm you point, like him. Like when you do that, three fingers right Pointing at you. Like what you need to do you right is execute daily. That's what leads to success. Putting in the work. Hacks do not grow businesses. Like, let's be real about that. Like I know what you see on Insta, right. I know what you see on Facebook and YouTube Hack videos are good sound bites, right. But hacks don't grow your business. Strategy grows the business. Marketing grows the business. Moticulous adherence to a budget is how you grow a business. Always looking for and evaluating opportunity is how you grow a business. Networking is how you grow a business, right. And so all of these are a strategy, but no one particular of them. You could sort of look at as a hack, because the collection of them is a strategy that's going to grow your business.

Speaker 1:

I know what I know today because when we open the cafe in part I know what I know today is when we open the cafe, the restaurant. I never assumed that I was the best cook, right, i cooked at home and I cook fairly decent Hopefully the kids and the wife agree but I was never a cook at home. But what happened was when we decided to open the restaurant and the cafe, i needed to be able to operate the kitchen and the front at a high level. So what did I do? I took cooking classes right. But then when we opened the cafe, i brought in an executive chef someone to teach the staff the cooking staff and me how to run and operate a kitchen right. And then I brought in a business manager, slash consultant who had a restaurant for 25 years, to mentor me specifically on how to run and grow the business.

Speaker 1:

Like you, need to know where your weaknesses are. Plug those weaknesses with talented people, five-star people, sometimes four-star plug your organization with those and then that's going to allow you to get to the next level. Stop thinking that you could do everything, because you can't. Nobody does everything, right, nobody does everything. When folks say they are self-made millionaire? probably not. I got some choice words about that. Probably not, probably not. You need to invest in yourself. You need to get to the point where you're confident enough to create that business, to become an entrepreneur right. The fastest growing market or employment is small businesses being created for individuals to grow their own personal empire right. If you look it up, personal brand businesses are on the rise at an incredible level.

Speaker 1:

So the question is what do you do? Are you a trainer? Are you a videographer? Are you a business consultant? Are you the bomb real estate agent? right, and you want to get to the next level. You're asking yourself how do I get to the point where I execute daily? I execute sometimes and I want to execute daily, but how do I get to the point where I actually execute daily? You feel me, you know what I mean. How do I actually get to the point? You know what I mean. How do I actually get to the point where I execute daily? Stop telling yourself you're trying, because you're trying is where you are now. That's what got you in the position you are now, and you've said to yourself you want more and better, right, so trying has to look different. It has to look different Like you have to change. Trying has to look different so that you can step into the new you and become something more impactful right To the world and in the industry. Right, you can have a significant impact, but it's going to be self-fulfilling for you, right, you'll be growing something that you dream about.

Speaker 1:

Like you leave work. Like you run home from work to do something else. You're at work thinking about this other thing when if you would just develop a plan, right, you could do that other thing and make a lot of money. Like that's a real thing, like that could happen for you. Like, you have to gain the confidence, gain the skill to get to the point where you're going to have that two-week conversation with your boss, right, and you're going to have the plan mapped out, right.

Speaker 1:

I think a lot of times that's what gets a lot of people nervous is that it's like, oh, i want to leave, but I don't have a plan. Like when I left my, my careers at times, like I didn't have a plan, i just knew I needed to leave and I wanted to do something adjacent to this. Other times I was motivated to do something right. But what I would advise is to have a plan. Like when I left engineering, i had a plan. I knew I wanted to go and teach it. Right, and what you need to do is figure out what's next, what's next for you, and then how are you going to get to that next level? Who you have to call? The source is in your pocket. That you said if I call this person, if I have this conversation, if I'm honest with myself in this conversation, right, it could take me to the next level.

Speaker 1:

But remember, it starts with you believing in yourself. Right, you have to believe that you're willing to execute daily. Execute daily, for your business could be two hours a day because you had a full time, so you're going to come home and work on it two hours a day and then four hours on Saturday and Sunday, like that could be your daily execution that's going to lead to your success for you. And what you need to figure out is how are you going to get there? How can you build to a point and have a plan and a strategy by which you can write that two week resignation letter? You need a plan. You need a plan. I can help you with that plan.

Speaker 1:

Like, you need a plan, you need a three month plan, a six month plan, maybe an eight month plan, but your burning desire, we don't want that to leave you, that fire in your belly. We can't wait 10, 11, 12 months. We don't believe in that. No, like when I got married, I proposed to my wife in January and I said babe, we got to get married. Like, now I don't want to be engaged for two years, three years, planning the wedding. I don't want to do that. Like, if you want to plan the wedding past the year, then I'll wait on the engagement. Like because I want it now. Like I love you now and I want it now. So she said okay, and we got married in August, eight months. Like, we didn't wait. Like I love you now, i want to get married now. And what you need to say about your business is I want this thing in my life now. You got to be committed to that thing right now. You need to say it out loud and you need to make it happen. You need to execute, does, executes, daily execution succeeds.

Speaker 1:

Mapping out a plan to leave your job, getting into your business and then executing your business at a high level. At a high level right now, Helping folks execute at a high level. What does that mean? Start, grow and fund your business at the level that defines success for you Right. Like, if success for you is I need to make 350 K to be successful And right now you're only making 75. Like, we can make a plan and develop a strategy to get you there, but what you need is to do something different. You need to make a decision Like a. You know in your mind it's one thing, but have you made a decision? Like a decision means I will do it. Like not maybe I'm going to do it. Like have you made the decision to do it? If not, that comfort can get from making a plan. Make a plan, investing yourself, become an entrepreneur.

Speaker 1:

Vacation Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday when it's cheaper Yeah, you got money in the bank and you're good. You could pay to go there on a Friday, saturday and Sunday, but it's crowded. Who want to go when it's crowded? We like the vacation. You know we got kids. We like the vacation Tuesday, wednesday and Thursday. Ain't nobody there. We ain't waiting in no line. We going right there, boom, like that's what entrepreneurship could do for you. You feel me Like, when we flew to Puerto Rico, we put someone in place to run our development business and we were going for a while.

Speaker 1:

We were going for a while. It was like 14, 17 days, you know what I mean. We're we meeting with them, mobile, yeah, but we were like, okay, we want a vacation and a weekend vacation is not going to be enough. So we go on to Puerto Rico. Yeah, it was like 17 days, right, and so what afforded us? that is because we execute daily, like, i execute daily and my wife has the mentality of executing daily, and that's what you need to do Developing the plan and executing that plan.

Speaker 1:

How, daily execution, that's how. That's how you feel me. Daily execution, that's how that's the, that's the, that's the hack. If there's any hack, if there's any hack to success, it's daily execution succeeds, which I think right. Like am I? am I far off? Like you think Mark Cuban is is not giving it 120 and executing daily? No, he is right. Like these people that operate at a high level, right, what they do is they execute daily. You need to execute daily, right.

Speaker 1:

And so, again, i'm a former teacher, but teaching is always in me. We opened the cafe. I was still teaching and now we have a development business and I'm teaching folks. And now I'm coaching and doing business strategy and I'm still teaching folks. So, as a former teacher, i have an assignment for you. The first assignment for you, the first inaugural, the inaugural assignment for daily execution succeeds.

Speaker 1:

The inaugural assignment here me, right now, is for you to start affirming yourself. Right, and I I noticed both women and men watching this, and women affirm themselves all the time. They're like signed in the bathroom. You know they got signs at work and they say stuff to themselves. But if you're a man, you need affirmation as well. Affirm yourself. The first assignment is affirmation, and I have two for you. They're real easy. I said them before I started the podcast today. I always say them because they're so powerful, right.

Speaker 1:

One of the reasons you can't leave your job, one of the reasons you've hesitated to start this business, is because you don't feel enough. You don't feel like you can conquer. So let's start with this affirmation. Here's the first affirmation I am enough, say it, Say it. I am enough. One more time. I am enough. And in the spirit, we need to say it a third time I am enough, right, like you are enough. You have to believe it right And then go out and execute And then, connected to I am enough, right. This is the second affirmation. Say both of them daily for the next seven days is I am everything I need to succeed. That's once. I am everything I need to succeed. I am everything I need to succeed, right, like that's your assignment for the week.

Speaker 1:

You, men and women, need to affirm yourself Like that's the first part of you getting over that hump, that barrier to your great self. Like your rich life, right, your life, where you buy what you want when you want, your vacation when you want. It's not that you're wasting money and wasting time, but you've put in the work to build the life for yourself. And to do that, you need to get over this first hurdle, and that first hurdle is believing in yourself, like that's what you need to do more of. You need to believe in yourself Straight up. I am enough, i have everything I need to succeed. Like tap in, tap into that, get it, feel it become it, become everything, become enough because you are Just. Step into it. Stop playing, step into it now. What are you doing. That's your assignment. Daily execution succeeds.

Speaker 1:
